This song actually has a prequel that has never been released. That song is called Let Go, maybe I'll finish it someday and release it. While writing and recording the song Let Go I found that the song was a little short and I wanted an ending that really stuck out. So I wrote and recorded a long outro for the song, I thought it was so good it deserved to be a song of it's own. So I just erased the part that was the song Let Go and wrote and recorded the first two verses and choruses, pasted the two parts together and Hard To Let Go was born. It's funny how a song can be written backwards, sort of, sometimes.
